
Paula Strada was recognized at the January School Board meeting. Paula, daughter of Craig and Sue Strada of Lake Ariel, highlighted her challenging academic schedule which includes AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and AP English Language (in her junior year). She is president of the National Art Honor Society and recently received a Certificate of Merit and a Silver Key Award in the Scholastic Art Awards. Additionally, her 2D portfolio was one of two Western Wayne portfolios and of 20 chosen for public display. She continues her artistic accomplishments, as she was an American Visions Award Nominee in 2008, a Gold Key Award winner in 2009, and a Merit Award winner in 2007. Paula has placed at the regional level in FBLA competition in 2008 and 2009.
A dancer for 14 years, Paula has served as dance captain for the school musicals for two years. She also uses her athletic ability on the girls’ soccer team for four years.
Paula’s other extracurricular activities include Marching and Concert band, Tobacco Free Youth (now SADD), Student Government, Brain Bee, and National Honor Society.
She plans to attend Penn State University to major in either chemistry education or art education.
