Seniors Amber Curtis and Jessica Giacobbe were recently recognized by the school board for their achievements.

Student council president Amber Curtis combines a commitment to her community and her school while preparing herself for her future. She has won regional and state awards for public speaking at Future Business Leaders of America competitions, has served at the Wayne County Dairy Princess and Fair Queen of the Greene-Dreher-Sterling Fair, volunteers at Wayne Memorial Hospital, and works on her grandparents’ dairy farm. She hopes to major in journalism and communication at a four-year college and has already published a short story, “The True Meaning of Friendship,” in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Teens Talk High School.

Jessica Giacobbe, senior class president, has a variety of interests including 4-H, marching band, chorus, three school musicals, and AP Calculus. However, she has made her mark in the visual arts, taking Advanced Studio Art, winning a Scholastic Art Gold Key, and being nominated for the Scholastic Art American Visions award. Jessica plans to attend the Philadelphia University of the Arts majoring in art therapy.
