Outstanding Seniors Recognized at November School Board Meeting 

 

Tatiana Samson, daughter of Alicia and Edward Samson of Waymart, has distinguished herself through academics, extracurricular activities, and sports. Tatiana is a member of the National Honor Society, helping with the Steamtown Marathon, and Feed-a-Friend. Her other school activities include student council, prom committee, and Future Business Leaders of America in which she has held local and regional office and placed at regional and state competitions for the last three years. This past summer she placed at the FBLA national competition in Anaheim, California.

A member of the varsity tennis team for four years, she has been named MVP the past two years and an All-Region Player. Tatiana advanced to the semi-finals in the Singles District Competition during the 2009 season.

For her senior project, she was a volunteer in the nursing department at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She plans to attend West Chester University majoring in pre-med.

Austin Krompasky is the son of Linda Martin of Lake Ariel.  Austin balances a challenging academic schedule and extra-curricular activities. A three-year member of the National Honor Society, Austin is also a member of the Scholastic Team and has participated in the gifted program for nine years. He has challenged himself with Advanced Placement courses in English Language (as a junior), and this year in Calculus, and U.S. Government.

Austin's extra-curricular activities include serving as the two-year treasurer of the Political Science club, participating in the regional computer fair, and placing in the top 10 at the state competition for FBLA for three years and placing 4th in Business Calculations at the national level. Austin plans to attend a four-year college majoring in accounting.
