Western Wayne Middle School Student Council recently organized a food drive which resulted in over 1000 food items being collected for the Wayne County Food Pantry. Middle school students brought nonperishable food items to their homerooms each morning as a means of helping eliminate hunger in their community at large. “We are very proud of our students and their sense of responsibility in helping others in the community,” said Mrs. Kristen Donohue, student council advisor. “The food drive is in keeping with our district’s mission statement of being lifelong learners and helping our students to become responsible citizens of a global society,” added Mrs. Donohue.
