Charlcie Brink and Phoebe Olsommer recognized at June School Board Meeting.
Charlcie, daughter of Robert and Cindy Brink of Lake Ariel, attained the Honor Roll throughout her high school career and participated in FBLA for 2 years. She used her athletic talent in performing volunteer work, serving as a camp counselor for the Wayne County Commissioners Roundball Camp, a Lady Cats Gym Rats coach, a Biddy Basketball coach, and Wildcat Soccer Club referree.
Charlcie distinguished herself as a three-sport athlete. Varsity co-captain of the soccer team for two years, she was named a Lackawanna League Second Team All Star as a freshman, and First Team All Star as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She holds the record for 84 career goals and was named MVP at the 2008-2009 Varsity Club Banquet. In basketball, she served as co-captain for two years, scored 1000 in January 2010. She was named the 2009 Honesdale Jaycees Tournament MVP. Charlcie was part of the varsity track and field league championship teams in her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. She was also named coaches' choice at the 2006-2007 Varsity Club Banquet.
Charlcie plans to major in physical education and to continue playing soccer at Keystone College, intending to transfer to West Chester University and finish her degree in physical education.
Phoebe, daughter of Donald and Alene Olsommer of Moscow, has distinguished herself locally and nationally with her artwork. A member of the National Art Honor Sociey, she has participated in numerous art programs including "Arts Alive" in the summer of 2008 and 2009, is a member of the AFA Gallery in Scranton. Her artwork has won national awards in the Scholastic Art Awards, was named the Artist of the Year by WVIA.
Phoebe played soccer throughout high school and has attended summer soccer camps. She will attend Kutztown University majoring in art education.
