Seniors Ashley Trygar and Matthew Buehring were honored at the June school board meeting.
Ashley Trygar, daughter of Richard and Diana Trygar, has challenged herself academically throughout her high school years, taking classes early (Spanish II as a freshman, Spanish III, Anatomy and Physiology, and Chemistry as a sophomore). In her junior year she earned credit for American History in an online college class through Northampton Community College, and as a senior, attended the University of Scranton to take Theology and Psychology.
Ashley also participated in numerous extracurricular activities including color guard, SADD, CATS club, FBLA, and NHS. She is a volunteer EMT/firefighter for the Moscow Fire and Hose Company.
She plans to major in nursing at the University of Scranton with a career goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist.
Matthew Buehring, son of Walter and Marlene Buehring of Moscow, is a two-year member of both NHS and FBLA. In 2010, he placed 3rd at the regional level for Personal Finance, and in 2011 placed 1st for Accounting II at the regional level and 7th for Accounting II at the state level. He is also a three-year member of SADD/Tobacco Free Youth.
Matthew earned Distinguished Honor Roll for four years and took Honors Pre-Calculus. He plans to attend Marywood University to eventually earn a Master’s degree in Accounting.
