January Artists of the Month

Abby Carmody and Stephanie Mozaleski are the January “Art Students of the Month”

Sophomore Abby Carmody, daughter of Colleen and Bill Carmody of Waymart, created her artwork “What I found in the attic…” using watercolor, acrylic paint, and colored pencil. “The dolls were found in the attic and I loved the brilliant colors and patterns of their outfits,” Abby said. She was recently recognized as the Student of the Month in The Scranton Times; more of her artwork is displayed at http://thetimes-tribune.com/arts-living. Abby is a member of the National Art Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America; she also is a member of the basketball, cross country, and track teams. She placed 14th at cross country Districts this fall.

Senior Stephanie Mozaleski, daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann Mozaleski of Sterling, created “Scruffty” using acrylic paint, colored pencil, and watercolor. Stephanie says, “He brings so much fun into my life; I feel that the colors really express his personality.” Stephanie is a member of the Wayne/Pike County Animal Response Team (CART) and enjoys snowmobiling, riding quads, fishing, kayaking, and jet skiing.
