Jessica Giacobbe and
Allie Poltanis have been named December’s Artists of the Month at Western Wayne High School. Their work will be on display in the main office and the library. Photos of the artwork are on this website's main page.
Jessica Giacobbe, a senior, is the daughter of Amy Christopher of South Canaan. Her acrylic work entitled “empty, untold” represents the empty jars and letter waiting to be sent. Jessica has participated in Arts Alive, Art Save, the AFA Gallery, and is a member of the National Art Honor Society, the National Honor Society, the cross-country team, and the chorus.
Allie Poltanis, a freshman, is the daughter of Gwen and Bill Poltanis of Waymart. “Autumn Harvest” is a pencil drawing showing Allie’s love for “autumn with its contrasting shades so I enjoyed creating the piece.” In addition to drawing, Allie’s other interests include reading and gymnastics.
