Located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Western Wayne School District encompasses 174 elongated square miles on the western border of Wayne County. Western Wayne, Wayne Highlands and Wallenpaupack Area School Districts formed a Consortium of Schools to provide special education services in 1999. Western Wayne holds the MAWA (Mutually Agreed Upon Written Arrangement) for Early Intervention Services for the Consortium. The Western Wayne Department of Instructional Services is responsible for special education, early intervention, gifted and Section 504 students.
