Students from Wallenpaupack Area and Western Wayne Middle School worked in teams in an effort to build and program their Lego NXT MARS Rover. Using NXT innovative software, students programmed the movement of the robots while collecting scientific data such as sound, light and other environmental stimuli, utilizing the latest Vernier scientific probes. The teams assembled on the second day for a collective videoconference with a NASA professional. Students then got to prove if their rover could go the distance on the final day.
The free student camp was provided by a grant from the
Wayne County Community Foundation.
