Western Wayne Receives 2009 Pennsylvania School Boards Association
“Schools of Excellence in Technology” Award

As one of only three districts in the state to receive an Excellence in Technology Award, Western Wayne was selected for this award by demonstrating that
· the district’s technology is aligned with its educational goals;
· the district has shown evidence of improved student achievement;
· the technology has had a positive impact on instructional practices, administrative operations, increased parental involvement and community support;
· the technology is supported by the district, the school board, and the community through moral and financial support.
District network administrator, Brian Seaman, technology coordinator, Susan Thivierge, and Don McDonough, technology specialist, noted many specific additions to the schools that were highlighted in the award.
The Classrooms for the Future state initiative, video production and broadcasting programs, eSchoolBook, virtually connected, math lab, interactive white boards and projectors, video streaming, video conferencing, EETT science laptop carts, science camp, Global Connect, and the new and improved district website.
